Sammons Center Salutes 50 Years of GDYO

The Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra, one of the Sammons Center’s original resident groups, marks 50 years of cultivating learning and creativity the youth of North Texas. To celebrate this extraordinary milestone, GDYO and the Sammons Center partnered to present several free community concerts this spring, featuring the GDYO Jazz Combo and Jazz Orchestra.

The concerts began in April with the Dallas Jazz Appreciation Month event at Moody Performance Hall. The final concert is scheduled for Saturday, May 28, 2 p.m., at the Pleasant Grove Branch Library, 7310 Lake June Road in Dallas. Percussionist Jorge Ginorio joins the GDYO Jazz Orchestra as a special guest to present the free event. For more information about the concert and GDYO, visit www.gdyo.org.
