Event Series: Sammons Jazz

Sammons Jazz: Timeless Traditions

October 7 @ 7:30 pm
$50 – $55

The James Kings Trio kicks off the evening by blending jazz tradition with the rich influences of gospel and R&B. Featuring the warm baritone vocals and expressive piano artistry of bandleader James Kings, the trio creates an intimate performance honoring music’s ability to comfort, inspire, and connect.

The second set features Sunny & The Heat Rays, led by vocalist Miranda “Sunny Doll” Tyler, in a lively tribute to the women who have shaped the history of jazz. From the Great American Songbook and Swing Era to blues, Latin rhythms, and the modern retro revival—the ensemble features Matthew Banks on clarinet and saxophone, Gaika James on trombone and percussion, Nicholas Messick on piano, Judah Sensabaugh on bass, and Alan Green on drums.

This concert begins at 7:30 p.m.; doors open at 7:00 p.m. Check-in opens at 6:00 p.m. in the lobby with a pre-concert reception on the 2nd floor. Tickets are $55 per person or $50 for Sammons members.
