Sammons Cabaret is a New York-style cabaret performance series launched in the Spring of 2012 featuring top local vocal performers. The series showcases local artists in an intimate, elegant setting where the artist is the focal point. It is an intensely personal evening of song and stories, where the audience participates in a direct, emotional conversation with the artist.
The Carson Series of Sammons Cabaret, sponsored by Judy and Royal Carson, features top local vocalists performing music from the Great American Songbook, Broadway show tunes, torch songs, and other standards.
Sammons Cabaret performances have been postponed due to the pandemic and future dates are pending.

SONGS FROM THE RED CARPET
Bestowing Hollywood glamor on Sammons Cabaret, the marvelous Peggy Lauren Lohr opens the spring season with “Songs from the Red Carpet,” in honor of this month’s OSCARS® ceremony. She and her accompanist/husband, pianist Bill Lohr, are no strangers to that glittering event, having performed at the ACADEMY AWARDS® Governors’ Ball.
The multi-talented Angie McWhirter (her Twitter profile lists mother, wife, singer, crafter, child care trainer, and jack-of-all-trades) is also a sought-after cabaret performer. Her gifts of song and positive spirit, which sparkled at Cabaret & Cabernet in 2019, are matched by her mastery of multiple genres.
Actor/singer Christopher Deaton earned enthusiastic applause for his performance of Loewe and Lerner’s “If Ever I Would Leave You” at Cabaret & Cabernet last August. Currently general manager of the acclaimed Lyric Stage, Christopher’s formidable talent prompted a critic to declare “Deaton’s name and voice deserve to be all over the city.” We are sure you will agree!
Singer. Songwriter, Pianist. Oh, and the male vocalist champion of TV’s Star Search, too. David Slater, who had several Capitol Records projects reach the charts, has worked with entertainers like Dolly Parton, Garth Brooks, and Wayne Newton. Today, he indulges his love of “the old stuff” by performing and recording music from the Great American Songbook.
