Written by Julia Lederer and developed in Bombshell’s signature immersive style\, Flies will draw you deep into another world where you’ll make life and death decisions alongside the women of the island. \nAbout Bombshell Dance Project \nBombshell Dance Project is a dance theatre company based in Dallas\, Texas. The company creates innovative\, audience driven experiences with a goal of sparking community conversations and bringing audiences closer to dance. \nAbout Julia Lederer \nAn internationally-acclaimed writer\, Julia’s plays have been produced across North America and in Europe\, and her films have been selections at major festivals\, including TIFF\, Palm Springs\, and SXSW. \nJulia’s work is driven by a deep curiosity about the world and how weird it is to be a human here. She has also published poetry and essays\, written for podcasts\, and is an award-winning copywriter. Currently her first feature\, WITH LOVE AND A MAJOR ORGAN\, is screening at festivals around the world\, after its premiere at SXSW.

DESCRIPTION:In conjunction with The AT&T Performing Arts Center’s Elevator Project\, Soul Rep co-founder and noted Dallas playwright\, Anyika McMillan-Herod presents her newest play. The production\, a serio-comedy set in 2020 in Dallas’ Elm Thicket community where McMillan-Herod grew up\, centers around two middle aged neighbors’ attempt to explore love and friendship while facing a complicated history\, world pandemic\, social unrest\, and neighborhood gentrification.
