DESCRIPTION:In conjunction with The AT&T Performing Arts Center’s Elevator Project\, Soul Rep co-founder and noted Dallas playwright\, Anyika McMillan-Herod presents her newest play. The production\, a serio-comedy set in 2020 in Dallas’ Elm Thicket community where McMillan-Herod grew up\, centers around two middle aged neighbors’ attempt to explore love and friendship while facing a complicated history\, world pandemic\, social unrest\, and neighborhood gentrification.

SUMMARY:The Producers
DESCRIPTION:A down-on-his-luck Broadway producer and his mild-mannered accountant come up with a scheme to produce the most notorious flop in history\, thereby bilking their backers (all “little old ladies”) out of millions of dollars. Only one thing goes awry: the show is a smash hit! \nThe Producers arrived on Broadway at the St. James Theater on March 22\, 2001\, where it began previews leading up to its official opening on April 19\, 2001. Starring Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick\, The Producers quickly became the hottest ticket in the history of Broadway\, hailed by critics and audiences alike. DESCRIPTION:Weekly beginner workshops run from 6-8pm in the main ballroom\, Intermediate and Advanced Workshops run from 7-8pm on the 4th floor\, Topics of these workshops and their instructors change from month to month; for more information\, please view the event page or DSDS’s social media. \nBeginner East Coast (Newcomer) Lessons run from 8-9pm in the main ballroom. The content of this lesson is the same every single week\, and we recommend attending several of these lessons to get the basics down before attending additional workshops\, etc. \nOpen dancing runs from 9pm-12am in the main ballroom. There is a short break in the music around 10:30pm for announcements\, birthday dances\, and the shim sham.
