DESCRIPTION:Every 1st and 3rd Tuesday at The Wine Therapist in Lakewood. \nClassical Open Mic is a free and open weekly event\, where professional and amateur classical musicians can play anything they desire related to classical music. From violin solos to opera arias to string quartets and horn concertos\, musicians of all levels are welcomed to share their talents with the friendly and appreciative cafe audience. \nA professional pianist is available to accompany you on opera arias\, flute sonatas\, cello concertos\, you name it! They will sightread your piece\, which means there are likely to be some mistakes\, but it’s part of the fun of making music on the spot. \nThe Wine Therapist has wonderful high quality wine and beer selections. While they don’t serve food\, you can order food to be delivered from any of the nearby restaurants or carry in. \nHow can I play? \nEverybody who plays classical music is welcome to join. Click the sign up link on our website to grab your slot. \nAll skill levels are welcomed and encouraged. There are always professional musicians who perform\, as well as amateurs and students. Musicians of all levels enjoy this unique opportunity to have fun making music in front of a welcoming\, receptive audience. Our goal is to provide a fun atmosphere where all can share their talents and not be afraid to be harshly judged. Mistakes are pretty common and part of the open mic experience.

DESCRIPTION:La Maupin is a tale of love and tragedy set in 18th century France all wrapped up in a high octane Punk Rock Vanity Fair package. Based on the true story of Julie D’Aubigny\, bisexual duelist and opera singer who was famous for dueling men and wooing their women. Through a beautiful mix of sword fighting and dance\, the show details her almost too incredible to believe exploits (like the time she burned down a nunnery to escape with her lover\, or the time she fought 3 men at once- and won!) DESCRIPTION:Basically\, the best show in town …\n\n\nFree\, family-friendly concerts on Sundays in July at 2:30 pm \n​The Basically Beethoven Festival was Fine Arts Chamber Players’ inaugural concert series. Since 1981\, the Festival has provided North Texas with free chamber music concerts during the month of July\, a traditionally slow time for arts events in Dallas. The Festival features professional musicians from local ensembles performing a diverse range of music. \n​Every program begins with a Rising Star Recital spotlighting local\, gifted young musicians\, many of whom are winners of area music contests and concerto competitions; followed by the Feature Performance showcasing professional musicians from across the Metroplex. \nAdmission is free and performances fulfill FACP’s commitment to produce classical music concerts with no barriers to attendance. Performances are enjoyed by longtime arts patrons and attendees who are new to classical music. Families with children in particular might find the Festival a good fit. \n​Since the pandemic\, we now offer recordings of these concerts on our YouTube channel HERE. \n​We are indebted to the past work of Dr. Alex McDonald\, Festival Director of Basically Beethoven Festival from 2015 – 2023.

While they don’t serve food\, you can order food to be delivered from any of the nearby restaurants or carry in. \nHow can I play? \nEverybody who plays classical music is welcome to join. DESCRIPTION:Basically\, the best show in town …\n\n\nFree\, family-friendly concerts on Sundays in July at 2:30 pm \n​The Basically Beethoven Festival was Fine Arts Chamber Players’ inaugural concert series. Since 1981\, the Festival has provided North Texas with free chamber music concerts during the month of July\, a traditionally slow time for arts events in Dallas. The Festival features professional musicians from local ensembles performing a diverse range of music. \n​Every program begins with a Rising Star Recital spotlighting local\, gifted young musicians\, many of whom are winners of area music contests and concerto competitions; followed by the Feature Performance showcasing professional musicians from across the Metroplex. \nAdmission is free and performances fulfill FACP’s commitment to produce classical music concerts with no barriers to attendance. Performances are enjoyed by longtime arts patrons and attendees who are new to classical music. Families with children in particular might find the Festival a good fit. \n​Since the pandemic\, we now offer recordings of these concerts on our YouTube channel HERE. \n​We are indebted to the past work of Dr. Alex McDonald\, Festival Director of Basically Beethoven Festival from 2015 – 2023.

The films have also allowed festival goers a chance to experience other lives and cultures without leaving their seats.
