Experience Touch\, featuring three captivating and emotionally powerful dance performances. As we celebrate this milestone year\, the company performs the Dallas Premiere of Lieder Eines Fahrenden Gesellen (Songs of a Wayfarer)  by world-renowned choreographer and former artistic director of Nederlands Dans Theater\, Jiří Kylián; the glorious Dvořák Serenade by legendary American choreographer Lar Lubovitch; and the return of Bruce Wood’s riveting audience favorite\, RED. \nImmerse yourself in romance in the Dallas premiere of Jiří Kylián’s Songs of a Wayfarer. Considered one of his most iconic works\, Songs of a Wayfarer  is set to a score by Gustav Mahler and features five duets that explore themes of love\, tenderness\, and the sorrows of separation. Kylian is an internationally acclaimed choreographer whose work has been performed by major dance companies around the world\, including Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater\, Nederlands Dans Theater\, American Ballet Theatre\, and Paris Opera Ballet. His numerous awards include the Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur from the Académie des Beaux Arts\, Paris; Sir Laurence Olivier Award\, the Nijinsky Award from the Monaco Dance Forum\, among others. \nDvořák Serenade by Lar Lubovitch\, delivers joy\, beauty\, and his signature rich and layered choreography. Lar Lubovitch has been named “one of the ten best choreographers in the world” by The New York Times\, which describes his work as “lushly romantic” and “shamelessly beautiful.” This masterpiece has been described as “one of Lubovitch’s big\, sweeping ensemble works\, the sort he does best” by The New York Times. \nExperience the heart-pounding journey into human fortitude with Bruce Wood’s unforgettable RED. Premiering at Fort Worth’s Bass Hall in 2001\, RED  tops the list of Wood’s most esteemed and iconic works. Completed just days before September 11\, 2001\, viewers of its debut drew an immediate correlation between the themes presented in RED and the state of our nation in the days following those tragic events. \nTouch  guarantees a captivating performance that will lift your spirits and ignite your passion. \nJoin us for the post-performance Curtain Chat\, where you can engage with the artists and share your insights on this riveting experience. \nApproximate run time: 90 minutes\, including two intermissions.

SUMMARY:Forever Plaid – Plaid Tidings
DESCRIPTION:Lyric Stage opens its 31st Season with this holiday classic by Stewart Ross! Presented at the Lyric Studios Space\, with both general admission and reserved café tables. Share some holiday joy with your friends and family at Lyric Stage. \nAt first\, Francis\, Jinx\, Smudge\, and Sparky aren’t sure why they’ve returned to Earth for another posthumous performance\, but a phone call from the heavenly Rosemary Clooney lets them know that they’re needed to put a little harmony into a discordant world. Sprinkled among the Christmas offerings are audience favorites\, like their riotous three-minute-and-eleven-second version of The Ed Sullivan Show – this time\, featuring the Rockettes\, the Chipmunks\, and The Vienna Boys Choir\, as well as a Plaid Caribbean Christmas that puts the “Day-O” in Excelsis! \nThe production is rated G and is fun for the whole family!

SUMMARY:Into the Gamba-Verse
DESCRIPTION:Lumedia Musicworks Presents “Into the Gamba-Verse” — A Fusion of Baroque Music and Modern Dance at Gracepoint Media Studios\, Dallas \nLumedia Musicworks announces the release of its newest short film\, Into the Gamba-Verse\, a mesmerizing blend of baroque music and contemporary dance\, premiering at Gracepoint Media Studios in Dallas on December 2 at 7:30 p.m. This exclusive red carpet event redefines traditional classical music performances\, setting early music against the backdrop of modern dance choreographed by Bruce Wood Dance Dallas’s Artistic Director\, Joy Bollinger. \nInspired by Marin Marais’ dance-driven Chaconne en Rondeau\, an 18th-century composition for bass viola da gamba and continuo\, the film merges modern dance with the timeless resonance of early music. Known for their “innovative approach” to classical music (Friends of WRR Classical Radio)\, Lumedia Musicworks continues to push the boundaries of the genre\, presenting historical works with a contemporary twist. \nThis unique red carpet event invites patrons to dress in attire with “bling\, sparkle\, and stardust” to celebrate the film’s cosmic experiment. Tickets are $50 and include complimentary libations\, bites\, and an engaging Q&A session with the artists following the screening. \nTickets are available for purchase online and at the door. \nEvent Details \nWhat: Premiere of Into the Gamba-Verse and live concert \nWhen: December 2\, 2024\, 7:30 p.m. \nWhere: Gracepoint Media Studios\, Dallas\, TX \nTickets: $50\, includes entry\, refreshments\, and artist Q&A \nDress Code: Bling\, sparkle\, and cosmic stardust \nFor media inquiries\, contact: info@lumediamusicworks.com
