SUMMARY:Hallam Concert - November
DESCRIPTION:Basically Beethoven favorites MAKE Trio with guest Stas Chernyshev. \nAbout Basically Beethoven Hallam Concerts  \nThe Basically Beethoven Hallam Concerts are a series of free chamber music concerts on Saturday afternoons at 3\, at Central Commons\, monthly from October—May (excluding December). Each concert features local professional performers who play in a wide range of ensembles. \nThis concert series began in 1984 as Bancroft Family Concerts through a partnership with the Dallas Museum of Art. The free admission and daytime time slot of the concerts were expressly chosen to support Basically Beethoven’s commitment to provide professional chamber music to those who would not traditionally be able to attend—particularly older adults and families with children. For nearly four decades\, the concerts have consistently attracted full-capacity audiences. Musicians frequently include members of  the Dallas and Fort Worth symphonies\, the Dallas Opera orchestra\, other professional ensembles\, and faculty members from local universities such as Southern Methodist University and the University of North Texas. \nThey are completely free of charge and open to all ages.

SUMMARY:REFLECTION: Travel Guide to Nicaragua
DESCRIPTION:REGIONAL PREMIERE \nComposed by Michael Gordon \nDirected by Sam Brukhman \nTravel Guide to Nicaragua by acclaimed composer Michael Gordon is a deeply personal and reflective work that unravels the hidden layers of his family’s Jewish heritage. After the passing of his grandmother\, a Holocaust survivor\, Gordon uncovers the complex history of his family’s journey across continents. This composition weaves fragmented memories and unspoken truths\, offering a poignant meditation on identity\, memory\, and legacy. \nGordon’s work blends Jewish and Nicaraguan musical influences to create a unique soundscape that invites listeners to engage with the silences and stories that shape our understanding of the past. Praised by The New York Times for his ability to reveal “unspoken truths\,” Travel Guide to Nicaragua challenges audiences to reflect on the lasting impact of heritage\, migration\, and survival. \nThis profound exploration of personal history serves as both a tribute to Gordon’s family and an invitation for audiences to contemplate the untold stories within their own lives. \nRun Time: ONE (1) hour + Post-show talkback (25 minutes)\nNo intermission
