DESCRIPTION:Lumedia Musicworks Presents “Into the Gamba-Verse” — A Fusion of Baroque Music and Modern Dance at Gracepoint Media Studios\, Dallas \nLumedia Musicworks announces the release of its newest short film\, Into the Gamba-Verse\, a mesmerizing blend of baroque music and contemporary dance\, premiering at Gracepoint Media Studios in Dallas on December 2 at 7:30 p.m. This exclusive red carpet event redefines traditional classical music performances\, setting early music against the backdrop of modern dance choreographed by Bruce Wood Dance Dallas’s Artistic Director\, Joy Bollinger. \nInspired by Marin Marais’ dance-driven Chaconne en Rondeau\, an 18th-century composition for bass viola da gamba and continuo\, the film merges modern dance with the timeless resonance of early music. Bruce Wood Dance Dallas joins Lumedia Musicworks in this collaboration at Dallas’s first RX video wall studio\, where the project was filmed in early 2024. \nAlongside the premiere screening of Into the Gamba-Verse\, Lumedia’s early music band will perform a live concert featuring selections by Marais\, Forqueray\, and d’Hervelois. DESCRIPTION:WORKSHOPS ARE BACK!!! \nWeekly workshops run from 6-8pm in the main ballroom. Intermediate and Advanced Workshops have not yet resumed\, but hopefully will return soon. Topics of these workshops and their instructors change from month to month. For more information\, please click on a particular week’s event page. \nBeginner 6-Count Basic (Newcomer) Lessons run from 8-9pm in the main ballroom. The content of this lesson is the same every single week\, and we recommend attending several of these lessons to get the basics down before attending additional workshops\, etc. \nOpen dancing runs from 9pm-11:30pm in the main ballroom. DESCRIPTION:“Forever For A Moment” is a one-of-a-kind art and dance experience\, performance\, and fundraising event. \nGrab a drink and enjoy light bites as a series of dance performances unfolds in the Dallas Contemporary’s large gallery. Through a world-premiere choreographic work\, the dancers create live motion paintings with their movements. A unique two-dimensional representation of fleeting choreography is captured in lasting visual form. \nThe motion paintings are then cut into small format pieces and framed on-site. Pick out your favorite and leave the event with a beautiful one-of-a-kind piece of the performance. \nThe show will feature live music by DJ and electronic music composer Elkin Pautt with world-premiere choreography by Diana Crowder and the dancers of Pegasus Contemporary Ballet. The collaborative evening will also showcase a curated selection of artwork highlighting emerging and established artists from the Nostalgia and Noise collective. The festival is an international festival that is held simultaneously in Mexico\, South Korea\, The United States of America\, and online to create a venue for various cultural exchanges. The NB team believes experiencing art– and more specifically experiencing art via dance and film– creates opportunities for understanding other perspectives. \nReviewing over 100 submissions from 36 different countries\, the NBFF jury panel curated the NBFF Official Selection by selecting films dance films that explore an innovative approach to “challenging the possibilities of what dance can look like in video form”.
