SUMMARY:Touch
DESCRIPTION:Bruce Wood Dance Dallas presents Touch \nJoin Bruce Wood Dance Dallas as the company celebrates its 15th Anniversary Season of dance excellence with Touch — November 15+16 at 8:00 PM and November 17 at 2:00 PM at Moody Performance Hall. Experience Touch\, featuring three captivating and emotionally powerful dance performances. As we celebrate this milestone year\, the company performs the Dallas Premiere of Lieder Eines Fahrenden Gesellen (Songs of a Wayfarer)  by world-renowned choreographer and former artistic director of Nederlands Dans Theater\, Jiří Kylián; the glorious Dvořák Serenade by legendary American choreographer Lar Lubovitch; and the return of Bruce Wood’s riveting audience favorite\, RED. \nImmerse yourself in romance in the Dallas premiere of Jiří Kylián’s Songs of a Wayfarer. Considered one of his most iconic works\, Songs of a Wayfarer  is set to a score by Gustav Mahler and features five duets that explore themes of love\, tenderness\, and the sorrows of separation. Kylian is an internationally acclaimed choreographer whose work has been performed by major dance companies around the world\, including Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater\, Nederlands Dans Theater\, American Ballet Theatre\, and Paris Opera Ballet. His numerous awards include the Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur from the Académie des Beaux Arts\, Paris; Sir Laurence Olivier Award\, the Nijinsky Award from the Monaco Dance Forum\, among others. \nDvořák Serenade by Lar Lubovitch\, delivers joy\, beauty\, and his signature rich and layered choreography. Lar Lubovitch has been named “one of the ten best choreographers in the world” by The New York Times\, which describes his work as “lushly romantic” and “shamelessly beautiful.” This masterpiece has been described as “one of Lubovitch’s big\, sweeping ensemble works\, the sort he does best” by The New York Times. \nExperience the heart-pounding journey into human fortitude with Bruce Wood’s unforgettable RED. Premiering at Fort Worth’s Bass Hall in 2001\, RED  tops the list of Wood’s most esteemed and iconic works. Completed just days before September 11\, 2001\, viewers of its debut drew an immediate correlation between the themes presented in RED and the state of our nation in the days following those tragic events. \nTouch  guarantees a captivating performance that will lift your spirits and ignite your passion. \nJoin us for the post-performance Curtain Chat\, where you can engage with the artists and share your insights on this riveting experience. \nApproximate run time: 90 minutes\, including two intermissions.

At the altar you have the opportunity to write down your dreams\, place them in the altar box\, and allow us to carry them to the next city to be blessed by the next group of Dreamweavers. At the start of our Dreamweavers’ Disco\, we will take a moment during the meditation to bless the dreams of those that dreamed and danced with us at the previous event in. Then\, your dreams will be blessed at the next event.” \nWith this practice\, together\, we are weaving a collective web of dreams and blessings. We are all connected\, we are all one. When one of our dreams becomes a reality\, all of our dreams come true. \nWhat is Ecstatic Dance?\nWe create a space that is inspiring and uplifting; without talking\, alcohol or the nightclub scene.
