The Sammons Center is finally finished with most of our Bond-funded renovations and repairs: all new entry doors, new canopies, improved drainage, and better waterproofing. But that’s not all!
We are undertaking one of the most important and effective evidence-based ways to reduce transmission of the COVID-19 virus — a new and improved HVAC system. Funded in part by a grant from the federal CARES Act, the upgraded HVAC system will have MERV-14 high-efficiency particle filtration to remove pathogens as well as pollutants such as dust and mold spores. Each unit will also have a UVC sanitation system to help clean and disinfect the air. These improvements are scheduled for completion later this month.
