For now, the sounds of construction have replaced the sounds of the performing arts at the Sammons Center. Our lovely 111-year-old building, completed in 1909 as the Turtle Creek Pump Station, is undergoing much-needed repairs and upgrades as we prepare for a safe and secure return of music, dance, and theater.
Click here for a video tour of the improvements project, narrated by Michael Cook, the center’s assistant director. The project, funded by the City of Dallas 2017 bond package, is expected to be completed by fall 2020.
The Sammons Center remains temporarily closed to regular activities, so in the meantime, please stay tuned, stay safe, and stay an arts lover!

Hi – My last name is Sammons – Just wondering about the name of your art centers origin?
Thank you for your interest in the Sammons Center. The building is named in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sammons, the principal benefactors who donated funds to complete renovation of the former Turtle Creek Pump Station.
