Attention all artists! Here’s your opportunity to have a hand in the actual development of the Dallas Cultural Plan! The Office of Cultural Affairs is inviting all emerging and established Dallas-based artists, arts educators, and designers to submit applications for a week-long, micro-residency within a department of the City of Dallas. Applicants should demonstrate a connection to the culture and city of Dallas, as well as a strong interest in contributing to the strengthening of Dallas’s arts ecosystem.
As a resident, you will engage with city staff to:
– Formulate and propose strategies for the creation of a formalized residency program
– Increase integration of arts, culture, and design with city activities
– Identify opportunities for increased cross-collaboration with the Office of Cultural Affairs
– Identify where creativity is already present in the department, even when it’s not acknowledged as a creative practice
The application deadline is 11:59 CST, January 8th, 2018. Selected artists will be notified by February 12th, 2018.
